Webisodes 1 - 3 were shot in September 2008, as a pilot for LOL. The rest of the series started shooting, starting with webisodes 4 and 5 in February 2009. Six months later. A lot can change in that time. Namely, the hair colour of lead actors!
Nicola (Keely Cooper) had dyed her hair brown between shoots and we faced a bit of an uphill struggle getting it back to blonde. You might have spotted the end result as a kind of… strawberry blonde colour. That’s why Keely’s first line in this ep is ‘Do you like my hair then?’ (Jaz of course doesn’t).
This ep features a throwaway comment about ‘Mr Garner‘. Watch out folks, he’s going to be a major influence in Keely and Jaz’s lives. Check out his character profile.
Some facts:
- The song that Jaz plays on the piano during the future scene is an original piece by Bryony Seth.
- This episode of LOL was the first one to be shot on a RED ONE digital cinema camera (also used to film ER and District 9). What this meant was the ability to shoot in 4K resolution (twice as high as high def), and pull off super slow motion shots - see the shot of Jaz tearing the photos off her bedroom wall and collapsing on the floor.
